- Oneida Street (Utica) - 3 to 4 inches on the road
- Genesee Street (Utica) - 2 to 3 inches of snow on the road
- Walker Road (Deerfield) - 4 to 5 inches of snow on the road
- Smith Hill Road (Deerfield) - 5 inches of snow on the road
Watch the intersections! They seem to the the biggest problem as you stop for traffic lights and stop signs. Also keep an eye for private snow plows clearing driveways. Some may back out in the road as they clear the snow from the driveway. Because of the low visibility you need to keep an eye on this.

five inches in Boonville, snowing moderately, village roads are getting plowed but I'm buried--driveway not plowed out yet!! Worried about visibility on route 12
I dont want to pay a plow guy until this storm has stopped...unless my plow guy can cut me a deal.. Is there any snow or state emergencies with no unecessary travel advisories?
Lots of snow continues here on Smith Hill. We're closing in on 7". We'll be here all morning long with updates.
Wow what a night...At this time just under 9" of snow on the ground. State Plows were out most the night and the County came in around 4 AM, I haven't seeen any town plows which makes my road a nightmare. With everything closing the plow guys may not hit the streets as hard as they would with schools etc. I have to get up and get ready to go into Dispatch. That is after the 1+ hours of snowplowing I have to do!
Just another quick note, Look at the latest Radar loop and two major things stick out to me. The areas of breakup out in the Western areas are now filling in quickly, and the very large amount of heavy precip building in PA and slowly working north and northwest. Looks to me that we are really getting ready for the Brunt of this storm!

Crazy times ahead of us for the next 12 hours. I have 10.5 inches here in Whitesboro as of 815 this morning. It has let up some but I see lots of trouble brewing to our south.
The 6z NAM & GFS is still showing a mean average 0f 2.25total inches for this storm for our immediate area. I'll say 15:1 snow ratio for an average which means over 30" for the area. So anotherwards we are going to get BURIED!!!! There is the possibility of the heaviest precip(banding) to be over our area but it looks to be just to the east of Oneida county. I think under this swath we could be talking about 4 feet of snow.
Out of this, I've come in at the low end with 6" of snow, and 27" currently on the ground.

Looking at radar if I am reading it correctly the worst is yet to come . About a 12" in Holland Patent and still counting .
Route 12 from Remsen to Boonville, I would say should be closed when this bad part hits, some spots are very open and will cause blizzard conditions in no time. As of right now 10:05am its getting real slick, I can only imagine whats gonna happen when the brunt gets here.

State Hwy 12 from New Hartford to Waterville is closed. We have 13" now here in the Northern Chenango county area right along 12 and it is still snowing hard. The Radar looks as if the back end is already advancing. Does the WKTV crew have an idea as to if that is going to continue, or is the precip going to fill back in or remain steady???
Actually the worst of the storm has yet start. The low is still off of New Jersey, Delaware area and that heavy precipitation is starting to move a bit westward. I think the backedge is going to fill in. Right now is the lull time in the storm until about noon. Then the snow will be heavy most of the afternono

Paris Hill is getting snow at a very steady rate. Everyone is doing the best they can to keep the roads clear, however I have a 5 foot snow drift at the end of my driveway that we are trying very hard to remove. Let it Snow!

SUNY Oneonta canceled classes today for the first time since I've been attending school here. The snow is up to my knees and our cars are buried in the parking lots (seriously, you can't see the cars at all!) Other than that we enjoyed our snow day by sledding on lunch trays and mattresses. The Otsego County travel ban is definately necessary (as if we could get our cars out of the parking lots anyway!)
Here from Schuylers Lake the snow is coming down quite hard we shoveled our driveway at 11:30 and we have about another 1'5" more.kris
